

So, we joined the NYC throng, and decided to get monthly passes to ride the subway--it's like the only way to get around here...It wasn't too bad...The train was fine...the station a little claustrophobic...but we made it through...
Luke didn't know what to make of the subway...he had this look on his face the whole time...
We went to battery park a few days ago so that we could look out at the statue of liberty...I gotta tell ya, it's pretty awesome to be so close to something that you spend your whole life seeing in pictures and movies...It's kinda nuts...
The coolest part of the battery park day was this huge globe statue...as you can read on the plaque, this globe was on the plaza of the world trade center...after the towers fell, they moved it to the park as a tribute to that tragic day...

Ground zero was unreal...there really are no words to describe what you can see there...It's hard to imagine the towers standing tall--now there's not anything but deep holes in the ground and cement hints at the buildings that once stood there...it's very strange...


It was a very solemn walk around the area, but I'm glad I got to see it...
